Operator Panel overview

Last updated: 2026-07-25

The Operator Panel is a built-in call-management console in the Dromlik web and desktop apps. It gives receptionists, team leads, and agent managers a single screen for handling a high volume of calls — without hunting through menus or juggling a desk phone.

What the Operator Panel is

Screening incoming calls and getting them to the right person is difficult on a physical phone once volume picks up. The Operator Panel is designed for anyone whose day is dominated by that work — a reception desk, a shared support line, or a supervisor overseeing a team.

It combines the call console, extension list, ring groups, queues, park slots, and group voicemail into one view. From that view, an operator can see who is on a call, who is available, what's ringing where, and act on any of it with a click or a drag-and-drop.

What you can do on the Operator Panel

  • Monitor and switch the presence of extensions in your group.
  • Monitor queues, ring groups, park numbers, and group voicemails in real time.
  • See internal, inbound, and outbound call activity as it happens.
  • Manage calls end-to-end:
    • Call distribution — redirect ringing calls or transfer connected calls.
    • Call connection — pick up a ringing extension or hang up a call on behalf of another user.
    • Call parking — park a call to a slot and retrieve it from any device.
    • Call recording — see recording state and toggle it per extension.
    • Call monitoring — listen, whisper to the agent, or barge into a live call.
    • Place a call to a group member or leave them a voicemail.

Permissions you may need

The Operator Panel is permission-gated. To act on your group members' calls and presence, an administrator has to grant the relevant permissions on your extension group membership:

  • Switch group members' presence
  • Call distribution — redirect, transfer, drag-and-drop
  • Call monitoring — listen, whisper, barge-in
  • Call parking — park and retrieve
  • Pick up or hang up other extensions' calls
  • Route calls directly out of an IVR menu
  • Switch business-hours and holiday status
  • Switch extensions' call-recording status
