Troubleshooting IP phones
Last updated: 2026-07-15
Most IP phone issues fall into one of four buckets.
Phone won't register
- Wrong SIP password — check Extension → Security → SIP in Dromlik.
- TLS required but the phone is set to UDP.
- Firewall blocking outbound port 5061 (TLS) or the RTP range.
One-way audio
- NAT — enable rport and STUN on the phone, or put the phone behind a SIP-aware router.
- RTP port range blocked between the phone and Dromlik.
Auto provisioning doesn't apply
- Phone isn't factory-fresh — reset it (see Factory reset).
- MAC address wrong in Dromlik. Compare the MAC on the phone's screen with the one you entered.
- Time is wrong on the phone (TLS certificate validation fails). Enable NTP.
Random reboots
- PoE switch port is under-powered. Try a wall PSU.
- Old firmware — upgrade to the current stable release.
