Manually register a Yealink IP phone
Last updated: 2026-08-18
Manual registration is the quickest way to get a single Yealink desk phone onto Dromlik. You enter the extension's SIP credentials directly in the phone's web interface — no provisioning server, no DHCP option, no RPS. It is ideal for a one-off phone, a home worker, or a phone on a network that Dromlik cannot auto provision.
Before you begin
- An extension created in Dromlik, with its SIP registration credentials available.
- The Yealink phone powered on and connected to the network, with an IP address shown on its screen (press OK on the phone).
- Firmware 84 or later is recommended, for TLS 1.2 support.
- A computer on the same network as the phone.
Step 1. Collect the SIP credentials from Dromlik
- 1
Open the extension
Sign in to the Dromlik admin console, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, and edit the extension you want to register.
- 2
Open the Security tab
Under Security > User Password / Registration, note the following values:
- Register Name (the SIP authentication name)
- Registration Password
- Extension number — this is the SIP user name
- 3
Note the SIP server address and port
Go to System > Network (or your welcome email) and note the PBX domain, for example
yourcompany.dromlik.app, together with the SIP transport and port:Transport Default port UDP 5060 TCP 5060 TLS 5061 Use TLS whenever the phone supports it, together with SRTP for media encryption.
Step 2. Sign in to the phone's web interface
- 1
Find the phone's IP address
On the phone, press the OK key (or Menu > Status). The IPv4 address appears on the screen.
- 2
Open the web interface
In a browser, go to
http://<phone-ip>. Sign in with the phone's administrator account — the factory default on Yealink phones isadmin/admin.
Step 3. Enter the account settings
- 1
Open Account > Register
Select Account > Register and choose a free account line (usually Account 1).
- 2
Fill in the fields
Field Value Line Active Enabled Label The name shown on the phone screen, e.g. the user's name Display Name The caller ID name shown to internal colleagues Register Name The Register Name from the extension's Security tab User Name The extension number Password The registration password Server Host Your Dromlik domain, e.g. yourcompany.dromlik.appPort 5060 (UDP/TCP) or 5061 (TLS) Transport TLS recommended, otherwise UDP - 3
Enable media encryption (recommended)
Go to Account > Advanced and set RTP Encryption (SRTP) to Compulsory when you registered over TLS.
- 4
Confirm
Click Confirm. The phone attempts to register immediately.
Step 4. Verify the registration
- On the phone's web interface, Status shows the account as Registered.
- The phone screen shows the extension number with a green line indicator.
- In Dromlik, Extension and Trunk > Extension shows the extension status as online.
- Place a test call to another extension, then an outbound test call, and check audio in both directions.
Troubleshooting
The account stays "Register Failed". Re-check the Register Name — it is not always the same as the extension number. Confirm the password has no trailing space, and that the transport and port match (5061 must be paired with TLS).
Registration works, then drops after a few minutes. The phone is behind NAT with a short UDP timeout. Set Account > Advanced > Server Expires to 120 seconds, or switch the transport to TLS.
One-way or no audio. Check that the firewall allows the RTP port range to and from the PBX, and disable SIP ALG on the router — see Troubleshooting IP phones.
The phone was blocked after several failed attempts. Dromlik's auto defence may have banned the phone's public IP. Remove the entry under System > Security > Security Rules and try again with the correct password.
