Submit the Meta app for review

A Meta app you create for Dromlik's Facebook channel starts in Development mode. In that mode, only people with a role on the app (admins, developers, testers) can message your Page and have the messages arrive in Dromlik. To let every Facebook user message your Page, you need to submit the app for review and get the Messenger permissions approved by Meta.

Which permissions to request

For a standard Facebook Messenger channel, request these permissions:

• pages_messaging — send and receive Messenger messages on behalf of the Page.
• pages_manage_metadata — subscribe the app to the Page's webhook.
• pages_show_list — list the Pages the connecting user administers.
• pages_read_engagement — read basic Page details and message metadata.

Before you begin

• The channel must already be working in Development mode — verify that a test message from an app admin reaches Dromlik.
• Your Meta Business account must be verified (Business verification). Meta won't approve advanced permissions without it.
• You need a public privacy policy URL and a public URL that describes your business's use of Messenger.
• You need a screencast (usually 2–5 minutes) that shows the end-to-end user journey — a customer messaging the Page, an agent replying inside Dromlik, and the reply arriving back in Messenger.

Complete App Review

   Complete Business verification

   Open Meta Business Suite → Settings → Business info and finish Business verification. Expect to upload company registration documents and a utility bill or bank statement.

   Fill in the app's Basic Settings

   In the Meta developer portal, open App settings → Basic. Add:

   • App icon (1024 × 1024 PNG).
   • Privacy Policy URL and Terms of Service URL.
   • Category (e.g. Business and Pages).
   • Data Deletion Instructions URL or callback.

   Then click Switch mode at the top of the dashboard so the app is ready to move to Live mode after review.

   Open App Review

   Go to App Review → Permissions and Features. Find each permission you need (see the list above), click Request, and complete the questionnaire.

   Describe how you use each permission

   For every requested permission, explain in plain English:

   • What the permission does in your integration.
   • Why your users benefit from it.
   • Where in the user journey the permission is used.

   Provide test credentials

   Meta reviewers must be able to reproduce the flow. Give them:

   • A test Dromlik agent login (username + password) that receives Messenger conversations.
   • The Page URL to send test messages to.
   • Any steps needed to enter the agent console.

   Upload the screencast

   Record a short video that shows the full round trip: customer messages the Page from Facebook → the conversation appears in the Dromlik agent console → the agent replies → the reply is received in Messenger. Narrate each step or add on-screen captions.

   Submit for review

   Click Submit for review. Meta usually responds within 5 business days. You'll receive an email with the outcome and, if rejected, a reason.

   Switch the app to Live mode

   Once every requested permission is approved, toggle the app from Development to Live at the top of the dashboard. From that moment, any Facebook user can message the Page and the conversation reaches Dromlik.

If the review is rejected

Rejections almost always come with a specific reason. Common causes:

• Business verification incomplete. Finish verification and resubmit.
• Screencast doesn't show the permission in action. Re-record so every requested permission is clearly demonstrated.
• Test credentials don't work. Verify the login before resubmitting — reviewers only try once or twice.
• Privacy policy missing Messenger data handling. Update the policy to describe how you handle Messenger message content and user IDs.

Address the specific reason Meta cites, then resubmit. There is no penalty for multiple submissions.
