Order a new business number

Last updated: 2026-07-15

If you don't have an existing number to port, you can order a brand-new business number directly from Dromlik. New numbers are allocated from the national numbering plan of the country you choose and are usually active on your trunk within a few business days. This page covers ordering numbers in Sweden and Ireland, including the local regulator requirements that apply to each.

What you can order

CountryNumber types available
SwedenGeographic (08 Stockholm, 031 Göteborg, 040 Malmö, and every other area code), national 010, freephone 020, and 0200 business numbers.
IrelandGeographic (01 Dublin, 021 Cork, 091 Galway, and every other area code), nomadic 076, standard-rate 0818, and freephone 1800.

What you need to provide

Both Sweden and Ireland require the end user's identity and a valid service address before a number can be assigned. Have these ready before you place the order in Trunk → Numbers → Order new number:

  • The legal company name (or the individual's full name for a personal number).
  • A company registration number — Swedish organisationsnummer or Irish CRO number. Sole traders can use a personal identifier instead.
  • A service address in the country where the number is issued.
  • A contact email and phone number for the account holder.

Sweden — country-specific rules

  • Geographic numbers are tied to the area code's geographic region. An 08 number requires a service address in the Stockholm area, 031 requires a Gothenburg-area address, and so on. National 010 numbers have no regional restriction.
  • Organisationsnummer is mandatory for company orders and is validated against the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket).
  • Emergency service registration. Every Swedish number is registered with the national emergency database so that 112 dispatchers receive the correct location. Keep your emergency address in Dromlik up to date under Call Control → Emergency location.
  • Typical lead time: 1–3 business days for geographic and mobile ranges; 3–5 business days for 020 and 0200 numbers.

Ireland — country-specific rules

  • Geographic numbers must match the area code's geographic region under ComReg's National Numbering Conventions — an 01 number requires a Dublin-area service address, 021 requires a Cork-area address, and so on.
  • 076 nomadic numbers can be used anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with no regional restriction — a good option if the account holder's address falls outside the area code you want to present.
  • 1800 freephone numbers require the end user to accept the terminating-carrier charge model. Dromlik confirms the applicable rate when you place the order.
  • Emergency service registration. Every Irish number is registered with the national 112/999 emergency database. Keep your emergency address in Dromlik up to date under Call Control → Emergency location.
  • Typical lead time: 1–3 business days for geographic and 076 numbers; 5–10 business days for 0818 and 1800.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open the order form

In the admin console, go to Trunk → Numbers and click Order new number.

  2. 2

Pick country, type, and area code

Choose Sweden or Ireland, the number type (geographic, national, freephone, etc.), and — for geographic numbers — the area code. Dromlik shows the available numbers in that range.

  3. 3

    Select numbers

Pick a specific number from the list, or request a block (e.g. a DDI range of 10 or 100 consecutive numbers). Bulk blocks usually take a little longer to allocate.

  4. 4

Fill in the account holder details

Enter the legal company name, registration number, service address, and contact details. Dromlik validates the company registration number against the national registry as you type.

  5. 5

    Confirm the emergency address

Confirm or update the emergency address that will be attached to the number. This is the address the emergency service will see if someone dials 112 from this number.

  6. 6

    Review and submit

Review the monthly cost, any one-off setup fee, and the estimated activation date. Click Submit. Dromlik places the order with the numbering authority and confirms the exact activation date by email — usually within one business day.

  7. 7

    Assign to inbound routing

Once the number is active on your trunk, map it to the inbound route, IVR, queue, or extension that should receive the calls. Test with a call from a mobile before you publish the number.

Common rejection reasons

  • Address is outside the requested area code — pick a number in the correct area, or choose a non-geographic range (010 / 076).
  • Company registration number doesn't match the legal name — verify the exact legal name in Bolagsverket or the CRO before resubmitting.
  • PO box supplied as the only address — regulators require a physical service address in addition to any PO box.
  • Number no longer available — a specific number was allocated to another customer while your order was pending. Pick another number from the same range.

After the number is active

Dromlik provisions the number on your trunk automatically. You will see it appear under Trunk → Numbers with an Activestatus. From there, assign it to an inbound route or extension the same way you would any other number. Monthly charges start on the activation date shown in your order confirmation.
