Monitor voicemail status on an IP phone

The Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) lights up a lamp — or a screen icon — on a desk phone whenever the linked mailbox has unread messages.

Own mailbox

Provisioned phones light up automatically when the extension's voicemail has new messages. No extra configuration needed.

Watching another mailbox (BLF)

   Open the auto-provisioning template

   Go to Auto Provisioning → Templates → <model>.

   Add a BLF key

   Set the function to BLF, value to vmexten:<extension number> (or the group voicemail number).

   Push to the phone

   Save, select the phone, and click Update Config. The lamp lights when the watched mailbox has new voicemail.
