Install on DigitalOcean

Install the Dromlik PBX on a DigitalOcean Droplet using the pre-configured image from the DigitalOcean Marketplace. The image installs and boots the PBX during Droplet creation, so there's no manual OS setup.

Before you begin

• A DigitalOcean account with a payment method configured.
• An estimate of your extension count and concurrent calls (see Server requirements).

Step 1 — Create the Droplet

   Open the Dromlik marketplace listing

   Sign in to DigitalOcean and open the Dromlik PBX app in the marketplace. Click Create Dromlik PBX Droplet — you're redirected to the Droplet deployment page.

   Choose the region and datacenter

   Pick the region closest to your users and trunk provider, then choose a specific datacenter from the drop-down.

   Keep the Dromlik PBX image selected

   The Choose an image section should already show Dromlik PBX. Leave it as-is.

   Pick the Droplet size

   Choose the CPU type first:

   • Shared CPU (Basic) — cheaper, supports up to 1000 extensions / 250 concurrent calls. Fine for pilots and small deployments; performance can fluctuate under noisy-neighbour load.
   • Dedicated CPU (General Purpose) — stable performance, no size limit. Recommended for production.

   Then size the Droplet:

   With call recording enabled, budget roughly 1 GB of storage per 1 000 minutes of recorded audio and add that on top.

   Set authentication

   Configure either an SSH key or a root password for SSH access to the Droplet. Store whichever you pick in your password manager.

   Finalise Droplet details

   Leave the quantity at 1. Give the Droplet a hostname and any tags you want, and assign it to a project. Click Create Droplet.

   Wait for the Droplet to become active

   Provisioning takes a few minutes. When the status shows active, the PBX is installed.

Step 2 — Set up the PBX network

   Copy the public IP

   On the Droplet page copy the public IPv4 address — that's the PBX's public address.

   Open the installation wizard

   Browse to https://<public-ip>:8088. The Dromlik installation wizard loads.

3. 3

   Set LAN to DHCP

   In the LAN section pick DHCP, then click Next. Confirm the reboot when prompted — the PBX applies the setting and comes back in a few minutes.

   Reconnect and continue

   After the reboot, reopen https://<public-ip>:8088 and click Next to continue.

What to do next

• Complete activation and admin setup — see Activate and initial setup.
• For remote extensions to register, enable an FQDN for the PBX or configure the public IP under Network, then turn on Allow Remote Registration on each extension.
• For SSH access, use the support user with the console password from Security → Security Settings → Console/SSH Access.
