Presence settings

Last updated: 2026-05-29

Each presence mode has its own set of call-handling rules. By default the rules are sensible — Available rings everything, Do Not Disturb sends every call to voicemail — but most teams want to tune them. This article walks through every setting available for a presence.

Where presence settings live

Open Extension, click a user, switch to the Presence tab. The mode currently in effect is highlighted; click any other mode to see and edit its settings without changing the user's live state.

Settings per presence mode

Ring strategy

  • Ring all my devices — desk phone, Drömlik App and mobile twin all ring simultaneously.
  • Sequential ring — devices ring one after another in the order you set, with a per-device timeout.
  • Drömlik App only — useful for hybrid workers when the desk phone is unattended.
  • None (silent) — used by Do Not Disturb. The call goes straight to the no-answer destination without ringing.

Ring timeout

How long Drömlik rings before treating the call as unanswered. The default is 20 seconds. Set this shorter for queues (so callers cycle through agents faster) and longer for direct dials where the user might genuinely be on their way to the phone.

Call forwarding

Three conditions, each with an independent destination:

  • Always — every call routes to the destination immediately (no ring).
  • When busy — calls that arrive while the user is on another call.
  • When no answer — calls the user doesn't pick up within the ring timeout.

Destinations include voicemail, another extension, a ring group, a queue, or an external number.

Queue membership

For each queue the user belongs to, choose whether this presence keeps them logged in or logs them out. Common pattern: Available and Lunch Break keep them logged in (calls just queue while they're at lunch), Do Not Disturb and Business Trip log them out.

Voicemail greeting

Pick which recorded greeting plays in this mode. Most teams record three: a normal one, a "I'm out of office" one, and an after-hours one tied to the Off Work presence.

Outbound caller ID (optional)

Some teams swap the outbound caller ID when on a Business Trip — for example, presenting the main switchboard rather than the personal direct dial, so call-backs reach reception.

Saving

Each tab saves independently. Changing settings on Do Not Disturb doesn't touch Available. Saved changes apply immediately — even to a user currently in that mode.
