Server requirements

Last updated: 2026-07-16

Size the server for your peak concurrent-call load, not just user count. Recording, transcription, and messaging add roughly 20–30% overhead. Use the table below as a starting point.

Recommended sizing

UsersConcurrent callsvCPURAMDisk
Up to 501022 GB40 GB SSD
50 – 2003044 GB80 GB SSD
200 – 5006048 GB160 GB SSD
500 – 2 000200816 GB320 GB SSD
2 000 – 10 0005001632 GB640 GB SSD

Network

  • A static public IP for the PBX (or a stable elastic IP in your cloud provider).
  • SIP: UDP/TCP 5060, TLS 5061, RTP UDP 10000–20000.
  • Admin console: HTTPS 8088 (customisable) and SSH 8022.
  • Adequate upstream bandwidth: budget roughly 100 kbps per concurrent call for G.711 with overhead.

Storage

Call recordings and voicemail dominate long-term disk use. As a rough guide, recorded calls consume ~5 MB per hour with default codecs; multiply your expected recorded hours per month by 5 MB to size the recording partition, or offload recordings to network storage.
