Install on a virtual machine
Last updated: 2026-07-16
The ISO installer covers all major hypervisors: VMware Workstation and ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, and Proxmox VE. Both Ubuntu and Debian variants of the ISO are supported.
Before you begin
- Download the ISO variant that matches your OS choice — Auto-install (Ubuntu) for default partitions, or Manual-install (Ubuntu/Debian) when you need custom partitions.
- Prepare a VM sized per Server requirements, with a bridged network adapter.
Steps
- 1
Create the VM
Create a new Linux VM in your hypervisor. Attach the Dromlik ISO as the boot media. Set the network adapter to bridged so the PBX gets a routable address on your LAN.
- 2
Boot from the ISO
Power on the VM. The Dromlik installer starts automatically. Pick Install Dromlik PBX.
- 3
Choose the disk layout
With the auto-install ISO the installer uses the whole disk. With the manual-install ISO you can create separate partitions for
/var/logand the recording store. - 4
Wait for the install to finish
Installation takes 5–15 minutes depending on disk speed. The VM reboots automatically when it's done.
- 5
Note the IP address
After reboot the console shows the PBX's DHCP/static IP and the admin URL
https://<ip>:8088. - 6
Continue to activation
Open the admin URL from a workstation on the same network and follow Activate and initial setup.
